It’s that time again where I share with you all some of the things that I enjoy and actually use. And unlike Oprah’s Favorite Things–mine are actually affordable. I actually use them a lot, too. These things aren’t just something I saw once or used once and proclaimed it awesome. These are things that I’ve tested over and over, over weeks, months, or years, and have decided that they make my life better. Hopefully, they’ll bring a little joy and/or convenience to your lives, too! Let’s do this:
AmazonBasics Reusable Silicone Baking Cups (24 ct) – Look, call me any name you want–but these things are frickin’ adorable. They make me smile every time I open the cupboard and see them. Each time I think, “do I need to bake muffins today???” So, pointing out the obvious that they’re cute, let’s also talk about “going green”. If you bake a lot of corn muffins, cupcakes, or other muffins (I make a lot of corn muffins around this piece), you’re probably tossing out a lot of one-use cupcake liners or you’re using nonstick spray (which creates waste and also might contain chemicals that aren’t great for you or the Earth). With these lil’ suckers, you can just use them over and over. One, they’re silicone, two, they’re easy to wash. Just a quick rinse, a little scrub with soap–good as new. You won’t regret getting these.
Reusable Reinforced Handle Grocery Tote Bag Large (10 pack) – This is another “green” product that JoJo and I absolutely love. These suckers are durable and can carry A LOT of groceries. Sure, who likes being “those people” that bring their own bags to the store…but to Hell with that. The amount of one-use plastic and paper bags that get used in the U.S. alone is staggering. With these reusable bags, the trip to the grocery store is easier and greener. Also, if you’re worried about aesthetics, there’s a HUGE color variety to choose from. So, not only can you help reduce waste, you can feel like you’re representing your own aesthetic while doing it. Pick some up, folks!
Geek Details Make America Read Again Coffee Mug (11 oz) – There’s not much I have to say about this. It’s cute. It has a message. It’s one of my favorite coffee mugs–ever.
Vicks Warm Steam 1.5 Gallon Vaporizer with Large Night Light – This is another product that I probably don’t have to explain much. This thing is under $25, lightweight, but durable, works like a charm and is my lifeline when I’m congested. It’s so easy to use, and if you pair it with the Vicks VapoSteam, you’re going to wake up a lot happier than when you went to bed. Trust me–if you don’t have a vaporizer already, you NEED this one.
AmazonBasics Silicone Baking Mat (2 pack) – This is another product that made me think, “How the hell have I lived without these???” Buying parchment paper, aluminum foil, nonstick spray, greasing down baking sheets–that shit gets old after years and years. These things just have to be laid on your baking sheet and you’re ready to go. They also wipe clean with soap and water like they didn’t just have caramel baked onto them. And they’re under $10. The time this will save you starting as soon as you buy them, compounded with the money you’ll save on parchment paper/foil/nonstick spray, makes them a no-brainer. I’ve actually thought of buying these for all of my peeps at Christmas, rolling them up, and shoving them in stockings. They’re THAT freaking awesome.
Until next time…
