Ya’ know, I’m like Oprah with my “Favorite Things” series of blog posts–except that people can actually afford the shit I recommend. And people actually care which shit Oprah likes. Well, none of this stuff is shit…okay, maybe some of it is if you’re not into the same things as myself. However, if you like the same things as me, it’s all worth your money. So, here are some things I love and personally own…and if you don’t like the stuff I like, you can at least enjoy my ridiculous comments about each thing. Enjoy!
Murder, She Wrote: The Complete Series – I’m a complete Jessica Fletcher junkie. When it comes to good T.V., give me Angela Lansbury solving murder mysteries, a snack, a cup of coffee/tea, and a warm blanket–and my fatass is in heaven. When the complete series of Murder, She Wrote was put on Netflix for a time–I. went. batshit. crazy. I hadn’t seen the entire series in years and was ready for a marathon. However, I wasn’t even through the first 3 seasons before Netflix dropped it! I was soooooo devastated. Until I found that the complete series’ box-set could be bought on Amazon for less than $75. Screw you, Netflix–I got Amazon Prime! So, you know I snatched that deal up and have happily spent many nights with Jessica Fletcher. JoJo just has to deal with this eccentricity of mine.
Rocketbook Wave Smart Notebook – This little interesting piece of technology has been incredibly useful over the years. It’s handy for writers, artists, business people, or just your average person that has trouble keeping tracking of shit. If you’re like me, you might jot something down, lose it, or just forget where you wrote it. With this fancy, schmancy notebook, you can write down your thoughts, story ideas, outlines, plots, drawings, grocery lists…blah blah blah…then use the coinciding phone app to snap a picture–and the page that you wrote is transferred to your Google Docs account. And it’s a fully printable piece of paper that is exactly what you wrote, how you wrote it, and in your handwriting. Yeah. That’s nifty…but you can also erase the whole notebook by putting it in the microwave! You don’t have to trust me–just go check out the video on the product page.
Cruiser Tumblr – Ya’ know how Yeti cups are so popular? Wait. Are they still popular after that whole NRA debacle nonsense? Either way, the idea of them is still popular, I’d imagine. However, they’re insanely expensive–and not justifiably so. Especially since you can get the Amazon Basics Cruiser Tumblr for nearly half the price of a Yeti. And they do just as good, if not a better, job. I got a 30oz Sky Blue Cruiser–and I love it. Unfortunately, so does JoJo…
Come Back With a Warrant Doormat – So…I bought this doormat, thinking it was absolutely hilarious. But then a cop did actually show up to serve a warrant. Don’t worry–it was for a different person and house–the cop’s paperwork was wrong. However, the doormat didn’t make the cop want to believe me when I told him he had the wrong house. So, I guess, keep that in mind if you buy this doormat. However, if you’re not the type of person that worries about such things (mine is still at my front doorstep), and you like a funny doormat–this is a good one to get. It’s lasted me nearly five years and it’s still funny.
Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern – This is one of those books that I bought on the fly because the title was so funny. I had never heard anything about it before just stumbling upon it on Amazon one day. And thank God that I did. This is one of the funniest books that I’ve ever read in my life–and I still laugh out loud every single time that I read it. It’s irreverent, bawdy, tacky…and extremely heartwarming. There is “salty” language throughout, so if that bothers you….I still urge you to buy it. If you can get past the bad language, the relationship between Justin and his father is so sweet. You’ll put this book down, relieved that you had so many good laughs, and touched by how sweet this bawdy book is. You won’t regret this purchase.
And if you’re in the buying mood–give this lil fella a try:
Until next time…
